Pascuali Filati Naturali
Pascuali filati naturali is committed to offering you top quality ethical natural yarns and fibres, ever since our very first yarn quality back in 2008 – mulesing-free merino wool.
Our introduction into international markets in 2016, after a successful participation at the h+h Cologne International Trade Show, coincided with us moving into our current headquarters in Frechen, Germany.
All of our products consist of 100% natural fibres. Enjoy a wide range of innovative and sustainably sourced products – yarn classics such as merino, avant-garde vegan fibres based on bamboo viscose, and nettle; interesting blends from unique alpaca, cashmere and yak: and some of the rarest natural fibres in the world such as Vicuña and Qiviut.
Since we primarily support small farmers and farms, not all of our products are “officially“ certified. Certifications such as GOTS are expensive, and not everybody can afford them. In order not to force our providers into financial difficulties, we do not insist on certificates, but instead travel to the respective regions to see the conditions for ourselves. As a rule of thumb, our requirements are higher than those of most textile certificates.
Our yarns are spun according to high standards either directly in the source countries or in Italy and Portugal. We dye our yarns in accordance with current EU directives. Of course, we also offer un-dyed, natural yarns.
Ecologically friendly, fair trade, and sustainability in one package. Revolutionise the knitting and crochet industry, and help us support and give back to the people and the environment that provide us with such wonderful yarns!
We practice CARE
Pascuali Filati Naturali supports small farms and farmers in developing countries and the betterment of society in matters of sustainability, transparency and fairness.
We make sure the source of our fibres conform to our philosophy, and often travel to almost inaccessible areas to ensure all our yarns are produced in a fair, sustainable manner respecting our environment.
The animals must be able to develop in their natural environment and be treated appropriately. The alpacas have their natural habitat in Peru, the musk oxen in Alaska, the cashmere goats in Mongolia and the merino sheep in Patagonia.
Only 2 told of our rare Vicuña fibre are produced per year and in circulation worldwide. As one of their few exclusive suppliers, we source directly from Peruvian farmers who gather and spin this precious fibre as part of an animal welfare project. Our Organic Cashmere yarn comes directly from Mongolia, where nomads are encouraged to fence off areas for goats to graze thus contributing to the preservation of the grasslands.
Because high quality, fair trade, sustainable and appropriate keeping of animals as well as ecologically produced yarns are very important to us, we personally and periodically visit farmers and production sites. We have deliberately decided against working with intermediaries in order to guarantee a high degree of sustainability and working conditions.
